winifer maría fernández pérez career took off in 2008 when she won the bronze medal in Dominican Republic Volleyball League. She also won the 2009 Santiago province championship and The Best Libero award making herself and her club, Cirnfuegos proud. She even managed to win the Best Digger, Best Receiver, and Best Libero awards in 2010 and 2011.

She managed to make her spot in 2011 Girls Youth Pan American Cup and won the bronze medal. She helped her Santiago team reach to Northern Region Cup and won the gold medal with her national team reaching the twelfth spot on the tables.

In 2013, it was because of her efforts and hard work U20 national team qualified for Junior World Championship. She also added another gold medal to her national team in U23 Pan American Cup in 2012.

2013 was a year of success and she won “The most valuable Player” in Baja International Cup in Mexico. She also received Volleyball player of the year by Santo Domingo Guild of Sports Writers.

She also took part in 2013 World Grand Prix. She, later on, played the NORCECA Championship Cup, winning the gold medal.

In 2016, she was called to play with her national team and this was the perfect opportunity for her to prove her mettle and she did by winning the gold in World Grand Prix. She gained overnight fame due to a fake video, which she denounced later. She also was regarded as the seventh most beautiful athlete in the world.
